| General Note |
- General note - New mosque of Maimbung constructed in the early 1950''s is a painted concrete temple complete with a central dome flanked by low, tapering, polygonal minarets capped with the ubiquitous crescent and star resting on tear-shaped bases. Tile roofing of the central dome is characteristically Byzantine. Besides the domes and minarets another feature of modern mosque design is the rooftop porch enclosed by balustrades of painted ceramic.
