- General note - Pre-war Japanese graveyard located in Martires, a stone throw away from Jolo town proper. Buried here were Japanese nationals who came to Sulu before the second World War, most of whom were pearl divers. An obelisque with Japanese characters stand prominently at the center of the graveyard. A Masonic cemetery lies beside the Japanese graveyard.
