- General note - Interior of the mosque in Rie Hondo, Zamboanga City, shows the Muslim temple devoid of any furniture except for the panimbalan(pulpit) from where Friday sermons are delivered by the imam. Recessed semi-circular prayer niche, called mihrab, indicates the direction of Mecca. Modern mosque design place the central dome over the prayer hall while a smaller one over the mihrab.
