  • General note - The island, so-called because of its hat-like appearance, actually consists of two islets close together on a reef which extends a mile. The smaller islet is 107 feet high, while the larger one (in area) is lower and covered with brush. Sombrero is one of the several islets that dot the Ragay Gulf; it belongs to the municipality of San Pascual in Burias Island.
