- General note - Imposing town hall of former town of Saravia (in honor of Don Emilio Saravia, the first military-political governor of Negros, 1890). The birthplace of the late Senator Enrique B. Magalona, it was renamed in his honor. It was through his leadership that the municipality owes what it is today. Area: 11,326 hectares; area cultivated: 2,656.4 has.; population: 46,220. Town was founded in 1860 by Fr. Hilarion Narro and Fr. Francisco Rada.
