- General note - San Pascual, a hilly thinly-wooded town is one of the two municipalities of Burias Island, the other being Claveria. Photo shows a portion of the town seen as one approaches the poblacion from the wharf. The island of Burias, together with those of Ticao and Masbate, was first explored in 1569 by Capt. Luis Enriquez de Guzman. Captain Andres de Ibarra subsequently continued the exploration and furthered Spanish influence.
