General Note
  • General note - This new-style mosque reflects the new architecture which has transformed the Lanao countryside. The onion-shaped towers have completely changed the look of the mosque which resembles those seen by pilgrims in Mecca. This mosque, finished in September, 1969, was built by Sulaiman Usman and Ibrahim Manalote of Balo-i, both "hadjis" who had made a pilgrimage to Mecca. Loud speaker on the minaret is used at early dawn each day by the Imam in intoning prayers.
