- General note - Mandaue lies 7 kms. north of Cebu City and has an area of 3,041 hectares. It is a city poor in natural resources but rich in human enterprise. The principal industries of this once barren coastal town were salt-making and cottage industries. The principal products today are copra, rice, fish, salt, vegetables, fruits, poultry products, and house furniture. Today, it has become one of the industrial centers of the south. Its city hall is considered the best outside of the city of Cebu. Mandaue bias granted a city charter on June 12, 1969.
