| General Note |
- General note - A prominent landmark at the southwestern coast of Guimaras island, opposite Iloilo city, is a cliff 447 feet high and almost perpendicular, on top of which rest an imposing concrete cross and a chapel. Called "Bala-an Bukid" or Holy Mountain, this pilgrim center is reached in about 20 minutes by motorboat from the Ortiz wharf in the city. Devotees flock here during Holy Week, climb a winding trail to the chapel, pausing along the way to meditate on the stations of the cross which have been planted at various points. The shrine was developed by the Ledesma-Lopez family in 1954.
