  • General note - Barrio Ipil in the municipality of Sta. Cruz is a limestone region which has a series of no less than 7 caves which are regarded by the natives as inhabited by supernatural spirits. Of the seven caves collectively known is the Bathala caves, only 3 are visited by curious travelers. Photo shows one of them, the Simbahan, so-called because of its dosed ceiling and waited bays simulating the appearance of a church interior.
