| Title Statement |
- Title - Larena (Siquijor)
|
| General Note |
- General note - Taken from Canlasog Hill, 2,000 feet above sea level, the highest point in Siquijor island. The island, about 10 miles east of southern Negros, is a sub-province of Negros Oriental. The old name of the island, Isla de Fuego, is based on a legend of a cloud that rested on the sea for many days, and out of it issued lightning and thunder. When it cleared away, the island of Siquijor could be seen. The entire island is made of coral with a thin layer of soil on top. Seashells may be found on the highest hill, while every rock shows its madreporic origin.
