- General note - A major tourist attraction in southern Sulu, the Bongao mountain rivals Hawaii''s Diamond Head in beauty and legend. It is a navigators'' point of reference from long sea journeys such as the Turtle Islands, or Cagayan de Sulu, or Sabah. From a distance, the base rock seems to reach for the sky. Nearer, it is a verdant garden with ornamental plants watered daily by the morning dew. Around its base are clearings planted to seasonal crops.
