- Notes - Oil on canvasboard. 27.95 cm. x 36.2 cm. Born in Obando, Bulacan, in 1913, Bernardo taught Fine Arts at the U.P., where he had also studied. He finished his B.F.A. and M.F.A. at Yale as a university fellow, 1948-52, under the renowned Josef Albers. After his four-year stay in the United States, he proceeded to art centers of Europe for special museum studies. He organized a National Society for Education Art in the Philippines in his capacity as founding committee chairman and as a member of the International Society for Education through Art (INSEA). Bernardo is married to the former Nieves de Guzman, a school teacher who also hails from Bulacan. The couple have three children.
