- General note - Led by their commander Colonel Toshio Hayashi, Japanese soldiers guarding the education building of the University of Santo Tomas are escorted to the Sampaloc Rotunda by men of the First Cavalry and Briton spy and interpreter Ernest Stanley (in white shirt). Hayashi and his men had agreed to release American internees if they would be escorted through the front lines and released. They were gunned down by American guards on Aviles Street.
