- General note - Visayan leaders of the Magdalo revolution council pose with General Emilio Aguinaldo, second from left, (back row) during one of their meetings at the latter's house in Kawit, Cavite, c. 1923. These revolutionary leaders were members of the volunteers militia formed by Gevernor-General Basilio Augustin in Panay, composed of Filipinos believed loyal to Spain which would help the government quell outbreaks. Unknown to Spanish authorities, Ilongo leaders infiltrated units of this militia and almost all of them were in actual command when hostilities commenced betrween Filipinos and Spaniards.
