| General Note |
- General note - Tirad Pass was a rocky barricada perched at the slope of a hill in Cervantes, Ilocos Sur. Flanked by Concepcion (now Gen. del Pilar) and Angake (now Quirino) and standing 4500 feet above sea level, it was the scene of the historic battle of December 2, 1899 in which the youthful officer, Gregorio del Pilar, figured prominently. In his last effort, to hold back Major P.C. March's Thirty-third Volunteer Infantry, del Pilar with a band of sixty Filipinos, engaged the enemy in a last ditch-battle. Among the fifty-three men who were killed in the encounter was the general.
