- General note - Filoil Refinery Corporation, the first Filipino gasoline company, was organized on March 6, 1959, to process, refine, and market gasoline, kerosene, automotive and industrial diesels, bunker fuels, and other petroleum products. At least 70% of the equity was Filipino, with Gulf Oil holding the minority interest. Using Gulf Oil's worldwide facilities, the company imported crude oil from Kuwait.
