  • General note - The first Philippine flag, or the reformed Katipunan war-standard, as a adopted approved a few weeks after the war had started. The eight rays of the sun stand for the first eight provinces, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Morong (Rizal), Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas, which were declared under martial law. Symbol in the center is the ancient Tagalog alphabet K.
