- General note - University of the Philippines President Jorge Bocobo introducing guest of honor Appellate Justice Manuel Briones during the National Heroes' Day celebration at the Barasoain Church in Malolos. On August 22, 1898, President Emilio Aguinaldo declared Malolos as the seat of the revolutionary government. Consequently, on September 15, 1898, fifty delegates assembled in the church for the inaugural session of what has come to be known as the Malolos Congress, who later framed the constitution of the republic.
