| General Note |
- General note - Using drag nets called pukot is common in Marinduque. This method, known also as beach or ground seine fishing, is generally employed in shallow waters and on smooth and gradually sloping fishing grounds. The activity starts shortly before sunset, when the mag-iilaw--there can be four to eight men involved--prepare to go offshore equipped with a dip net and a couple of 50-100 candle-power lamps. With these lamps, they attract a school of fish.
