| General Note |
- General note - As the mag-iilaw head toward the shore, the group taking care of the pukot prepares to meet them. On board a big banca, called lambatan, is a net with two wings and a bunch of smaller nets between them. The latter may be of uniform depth or narrower at the wings and deeper at the center, forming a pocket or purse, called pukot. The catch is enclosed in this pocket as the net is gradually hauled to the shore. Floats and weights keep the upper part of the net near the surface of the water and the lower portion at the bottom of the sea.
