| Notes |
- Notes - A typical bahay na bato in Zamboanga. Wide open windows with sliding wooden jalousies and wooden balustrades give the house a light and airy quality. A two-story Filipino-Spanish house whose prototype became popular in the urban areas during the 19th century. The lightness and airy quality of the nipa hut were retained by the use of a wooden upper floor slightly protruding beyond and resting on a concrete-walled entresuelo, as well as the wide open windows with sliding wooded jalousies and wooden balustrades (verandillas) from floor to waist level. The lower floor was used for carriages and storage. The Spaniards intrduced the use of bricks and adobe stones into the Philippines.
