| General Note |
- General note - Bleached strips of sabotan fibers are shown spread out under the sun to dry. In preparing the straws for hat-making, the spiny margins and midribs of the leaves are removed first. Then the leaves are sun-dried for a while, divided into strips of a desired width by splitting them with a comb-like instrument, wound tightly around a piece of wood to remove excessive moisture in the fibers, coiled in bundles and then soaked in running waster for some 24 hours to make them pliable enough for weaving.
