Title Statement
  • Title - Packing coconut butter
General Note
  • General note - Vegetable lard and soap were rationed almost as soon as the Japanese forces occupied the Philippines in January 1942. In spite of the large stocks of coconut oil, copra, and manufactured products at the end of 1941, coconut products became scarce. This led people to think they were being exported to Japan and other Japanese-occupied territories to provision the Japanese Imperial forces.
