Title Statement
  • Title - Chinese immigrants in a noodle factory
General Note
  • General note - The Chinese immigrant who was willing to work tirelessly while living a Spartan life would soon save enough to open a business--a junk shop, sari-sari store, or palay-buying station. Often, there were Chinese compatriots ready to supply him an initial inventory on credit or lend him start-up capital at reasonable rates. He would continue to save his modest earnings, investing part of it to expand his business and sending the rest to his family back in China.
