- Notes - Photo shows the compound of the Manila Observatory on Padre Faura Street. The center was the house of the famous 18-inch refracting telescope ordered from the Mertz factory in Germany and about 254 scientific papers prepared by Fr. Manuel Selga for various international journals in Europe and America. All these were destroyed during the manila bombardment of 1945.(See also AR00169).
