  • Notes - Photo shows the ruins of Fort Daniel, considered as Jolo''s strongest fortress, built by Datu Daniel Amil Bahar at the foot of a hill near Jolo town proper. In 1878, the fort of Alfonso XII was erected in the same area, after the Spanish takeover of Jolo in 1876. Presently, it is occupied by the Constabulary headquarters.
