- General note - A memorial marker at the hill side along the eastern road to Bohol, 3 km. from the municipal hall of Valencia, honors two war heroes from Duero. Teodoro Abueva and Purificacion Veloso Abueva, leaders of the guerilla movement in the province, were executed by the Japanese on Oct. 23, 1944, on the spot shown in the picture.
