- General note - Loon has the highest monument of Dr. Jose Rizal in the entire province of Bohol. On the top is a small version of the U.S. statue of Liberty. The monument-complex was built by the Americans in 1929. Two primary schoolhouses, built during the Spanish regime, used to occupy both sides of the plaza until they were burned by the Americans in 1901.
