| General Note |
- General note - Photo shows the shrine erected to commemorate the battle fought between the Bulacan katipuneros and the command of the General Eusebio Roque and loyalist troops commanded by General Olaguer Feliu on 1 January 1897. Two thousand loyalist were divided into five columns and then ordered to march towards the rebel stronghold in Pandi. Roque failed to discern the enemy's true objective so that he sent half of his men towards Malolos where some of the loyalist troops had started out from. The rebel forces were routed in the attack on Kakarong which began at nine o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day, 1897. One of the few survivors who crawled out of the foxholes and managed to pass through the Spanish cordon was a young 21 year-old lieutenant named Gregorio del Pilar.
