- General note - Inscriptions in the marker traces briefly the colony's history, starting with its establishment in January 21, 1932. The first camp, named Mactan, was located at the junction of the Tuganay and Lacutan rivers; another one is known as the "Central". In 1941, when the Japanese landed in Davao, the people sought sanctuary inside the colony.
