| General Note |
- General note - Photo of the Ohta obelisk as seen from the national highway. The biggest concentration of Japanese in the Philippines before the outbreak of World War II was in Davao. In 1935, of the 19,000 foreign immigrants, about ¾ were settled in that province, mainly in Mintal and Guianga. Most of the settlers came from poor areas like Okinawa, Southern Honshu and Kyushu, earned money here and then went back to their homeland.
