General Note
  • General note - An imposing landmark in the Arevalo Plaza is a monument about 20 ft. high, on top of which is perched a bronze crown which is perched crown dedicated to Isabela II of Spain who reigned from 1843 to 1868. a legend relates how a farmer flowing his field dug up a crown and not far from it a scepter (both of precious metal, probably silver) and a big plack wooden cross. The crown was said to contain a precious stone. A replica of the crown was made and mounted on top of a towering stone pillar in 1854 during the term of Domingo de Guzman as alcalde-mayor.
