| General Note |
- General note - Shown is the monument erected in honor of the daughter of Ferdinand VII of Spain who was queen from 1833 to 1868 when she was forced to abdicate in favor of her son Alfonso XII. The statue, the work of Spanish sculptor Ponciano was unveiled on 28 June 1860. I 1868, the newly appointed Governor-General Carlos Maria de la Torre ordered the removal and destruction of the statue of the deposed Queen. The resolution aroused indignation for the part of some loyal supporters which prompted the governor to consign it to a storeroom in the old Ayuntamiento building where it remained until it was relocated in front of the Malate church in 1896.
