- General note - Photo show the monument erected in honor of the Spanish botanist who came to Manila in 1871 as inspector general of the forestry department. He published a memoir containing valuable information of the forests of the Philippines in 1878. Earlier, he translated into Spanish Feodor Jagor's Reisen en den Philippines (Journey in the Philippines), originally published in Berlin in 1873.
