- General note - Obelisk erected by Meliton P. Limbaco, former mayor of Mambajao, in honor of the town's heroes during the Japanese war; located between the church and provincial hospital. The Japanese landed in Mambajao on June 18, 1942, but not until July 14, 1942 did they established a municipal puppet government. On November 4, 1943, the town was shelled by the enemy and set on fire about 79 houses and buildings including the town hall and the convent adjoining the parish church. Camiguin was liberated by the Americans on February 2, 1944.
