- Title - Puerta del Parian
|
| Notes |
- Notes - Parian Gate. A view of the gate leading to Intramuros from the Chinese quarters. "Parian" was the name of the Chinese living quarter adjoining the Walled City. It was put up by Governor Gomez Dasmariñas for the Chinese residents who were displaced from within. The location of the gate shows that it got its name from the old district. After 1765, the Parian gate became the passage through which the official entrance of the new governor was made. It was here that he received the symbolic key of the city from the leading residents.
