| General Note |
- General note - Marker shown in photo traces the beginning and ownership of the dam named in honor of Don Placido Escudero. It was originally constructed in 1872, of adobe stone and lime mortar, by Ciriaco Nadres to irrigate his farms. He was the original owner of the hacienda, whose son, Hermenegildo, sold the property in 1890 to Placido Escudero. The new owner reconstructed in 1904 the dam in concrete, also for irrigation purposes. Arsenio, his son, subsequently improved and expanded it in 1937 to supply electric power to the villa, aside from irrigating its plantation.
