| General Note |
- General note - Mayor Hasan Yusop poses beside a historical marker on Taganak beach, a monument which attests to a page in Philippine history when the islets were a part of British Malaya. A native of Jolo, Mayor Yusop is the executive to some 300 resident. Life in Taganak, however, moves at turtle pace. Its inhabitants depend largely on fishing, pearl diving and collecting turtle eggs. Not accessible to commercial inter-island vessels, residents have to shop at Sandakan, Sabah which is only 45 minutes by an outboard motorboat.
