- General note - Anchor of a Japanese ship sunk by the American during the liberation of Basilan in March, 1945. During the Japanese occupation, puppet local governments were established in Isabela and Lamitan. Elpidio Sta. Elena was mayor of Isabela, while Teofilo Saavedra was Mayor of Lamitan. Immediately after the American liberation forces landed in Basilan, a military government was established with Leroy S. Brown as military mayor. The anchor is at present kept in the lot owned by the Weyerhaeuser, Philippines a foreign logging firm operating in Basilan.
