| General Note |
- General note - This plaza is a tribute to Vigan's martyr-priest and hero, Father Jose Burgos whose statue dominates the place. He was the first Filipino clergy to fight and die for reforms and equality before the law. The martyrdom of Father Burgos, one of the triumvirate guillotined in the famed Cavite Revolt of 1872 was one big spark in the Ilocano soul which, with other causes of discontent, oppression and abuse, finally flamed into the conflagration of the Revolution. The people of Ilocos Sur immediately rose at one in the fight for freedom. The Spanish forces in the province were assaulted and overpowered. The monument topped by an urn stands beside his blooding statue.
