It feeds on fruits and insects. It breeds from March to September and keeps its young in cup-shaped nests made of grass, vines, and roots lined with fine fiber-like serial roots, placed in a low tree about 5 feet from the ground, in an open situation. Two to three eggs make a full clutch. Incubation is 13 days. Young leaves the nest in 12 to 14 days. Egg is ovate, ground-color pale pinkish white, very thickly mottled all over with light red and underlying lavender blotches.
