| Notes |
- Notes - This fortress has a church-convento complex within, established in 1605 by the Jesuits headed by Father Francisco Otazo. It was located near Capo Santo Espiritu, the first landfall where incoming galleons returning from Acapulco were sighted as they approached Philippine waters. The people of Palapag often sought refuge in the fortress to escape the hordes of Muslim pirates who terrorized the town.
