- Notes - Scientific name: Mirafra javanica philippinensis Family: Alaudidae Local name: Bahayaw (Pil); Tagsin, Lagsing, or Ananagsing (Vis) Other common names: Australasian Lark, Singing Bushlark(!), Eastern (Singing) Bushlark, Horsfield's Bushlark; Cinnamon Lark (woodwardi); Javan Lark (javanica) Conservation status: LC (Least Concern) Resembles the skylark in color and habits, but darker and less distinctly marked. Differs considerably in having a thicker and shorter bill and being of smaller size. Wing-feathers bordered with reddish brown. Rather common in open country, mainly in grassland and pastures.
