- Notes - Scientific name: Chalcophaps indica Family: Columbidae Local name: Bambanin (Pil); Bato-bating Sili (Tag); Manatad (Vis) Other common names: Green-winged/Green-backed/Green Dove, Lilac-mantled/Long-billed/Little Green/Little Green-winged Pigeon Conservation status: LC (Least Concern) Very shy, rarely seen except flying low through understory of forest and second growth or between patches of forest in the lowlands to about 1000 m. Feeds on forest floor and sides of road in forest, early in the morning. Birds with enlarged gonads recorded in Feb, Mar, and Oct and breeding noted in Apr and May.
