- Notes - Scientific name: Treron pompadora Family: Columbidae Local name: Punay (Pil) Other common names: Grey-fronted/Ashy-headed/Andaman Green-pigeon; Pompadour Pigeon Conservation status: LC (Least Concern) Ranges from the lowlands to about 1000 m in primary and second growth forests and forest patches. During fruiting seaso from Sep to Jan in the Visayas, may be seen in large flocks flying from one fruiting tree to another. Joins other green-pigeons in feeding trees. Undertakes local movements, largely altitudinal, in response to changes in fruiting patterns of lowland an higher altitude tree species. Birds with enlarged gonads recorded in April, May, and June. Nests found in June were in trees from 5 to 20 m from the ground. Nests are typical of doves and pigeons and are made of loosely arranged sticks placed on horizontal branches.
