- Notes - Scientific name: Dipterocarpus thurife. Gives white, hard resinous gum, very odorous, used instead of incence in some churches. It is abundant in many parts of the islandsespecially in the center and south of Luzon. It is used principally in the construction of bancas. Very little used in ordinary construction.
