- Notes - Colegio del Santisimo Rosario in Lingayen was founded by the Dominicans in 1890. Bishop Domingo de Salazar sent the first contingent of six Dominican missionaries led by Fr. By about the end of the 16th century, the whole province which was being religiously administered by the Augustinians and the Dominicans had already been converted to Christianity.
