| Notes |
- Notes - Echinoderms are radially symmetrical marine animals having a calcareous skeleton, a blood-vascular system, a nervous system, and tubular appendages that act as tentacles and organs of locomotion. Starfish and sea urchins are examples. Starfish, also called sea stars, have a central body radiating into three tapering arms or rays. The flattened upper surface is covered with a leathery skin with small, lobed plates of carbonate of lime, many of them having prickles. They feed mostly on mollusks, worms, and crustaceans.
