- Notes - Photo shows the facade of the old building in Intramuros. The school was founded by Fr. Miguel Benavides, O.P. on April 28, 1611, originally named Colegio de Nuestra SeƱora del Rosario. Later it became Colegio de Santo Tomas, in honor of the great Dominican theologian St. Thomas Aquinas. It was made a university in 1645.
